Sizing a Warehouse RFID Deployment: A Field Checklist
● GTA Deployment Team · 25/06/2026
Before we quote a system, there are a few things we always measure on-site: steel racking density and its effect on signal reflection, the tag volume that needs reading per hour at the busiest point, existing RF noise in the 900 MHz band, and the actual movement paths goods take (not the assumption from a floor plan).
From that data, reader placement and antenna gain get set to your warehouse's real conditions, not a generic diagram. That process is the difference between a system that “mostly works” and one whose counts a warehouse manager can actually trust.
